Ingredients

  • 2 cups water
  • 2 tbsp white wine
  • 1 tea spoon lime juice
  • 1/4 tea spoon salt
  • 1 tbsp beer optional
  • 1/2 cup vinegar
  • 100 g cleaned mussels with shell

Instructions

  • Get 1 1/2 cups of water and add vinegar to it. Stir it well.
  • Dip the mussels in the water+vinegar mix and keep it for 10-15 minutes
  • Get a good-sized deep pan or stockpot and then add enough water to cover the bottom of the pan.
  • Here’s the fun part. Add white wine, a dip of lemon juice, a tinge of salt and (if you’re adventurous some beer) to the liquid and let it boil in medium to high heat.
  • After 15 minutes, drip off the water and keep the mussels aside till the water boils.
  • When the liquid boils (bubbles will come up at this stage) add mussels and cover it with a tight lid.
